Spiteful

A hidden role, neither friend nor foe of the village. The Spiteful bears a grudge against a single person, drawn at random: that person must not leave the village, and he must not kill them. He himself must leave through the portal.
- Your trade is your cover: it gives you a reason to be wherever your target goes.
- Every means is fair except killing: accuse them, lock them up and keep the key, delay them, lead them astray in the woods, or knock them down at the right moment.
- Your quest succeeds if your target misses the portal for any reason, even if someone else kills them. It fails only if you are the one who finishes them off.
- You wish harm on nobody else. Use it: it makes you hard to read.
Lore
Nobody remembers what started it: an insult, a debt, a broken promise. He does. He smiles at everyone, works like everyone, and keeps one face in mind. When the portal opens, he will walk through it. The other one will not.
