Beggar
Difficulty: Medium
The Beggar wanders through the village, surviving on alms, improvised small services, and opportunistic chances. They start with almost nothing and must rely on the generosity or naivety of others. Their goal is to carve out a place for themselves, survive the night, and, if possible, change their fate.
- The beggar should not hesitate to interact: evoke pity, tell stories, offer small services, or discreetly spy.
- Getting close to benevolent or overly busy roles helps; they are more likely to offer assistance.
- Using conflicts to become indispensable or to gather information no one wants to spread is advisable.
Lore
A former resident ruined by disaster or the victim of an unjust exile, the Beggar has taken refuge in the village's backstreets. The villagers see them as a ghost of the past or a reminder of their own fragility. Yet beneath the rags lies a surprising tenacity and an intimate knowledge of the underbelly, rumors, and secrets of the village.
